Government, Councils & NGOs
Real people, real places, on the record.
Prior to photography, our founder spent eight years in public health, delivering messages to the public. Now we photograph for the teams who still have to deliver them: South Australian government, councils and community organisations.
AI can make a picture.
It can’t make it true.
When a council or a charity publishes an image, residents and donors assume it’s real. It has to be.
Generated images are already costing public bodies trust. When an English council used an AI image in a campaign, residents said they would rather have seen real photographs of their own town. Research into charity campaigns found AI images pulled the conversation away from the cause itself.
We photograph the actual mayor, the CEO or the minister at the actual opening, the real staff and the real community. Every image is one you can stand behind if a councillor, a journalist or a donor asks.

Questions
we often get.
Can you work to our brand and style guidelines?
Yes. Send them with your brief and we’ll shoot and deliver to them, including file naming, formats and caption style.
Can you provide what our procurement team needs?
Yes. We provide itemised written quotes, certificates of currency for our insurance and our ABN, and we’re happy to complete supplier forms.
What about people who don’t want to be photographed?
We can agree on an opt-out method with you before the event, such as a coloured lanyard or sticker, and brief every photographer on it. Anyone who opts out is left out of the delivered images.
Who owns the photographs?
Copyright stays with Capture the Present and your organisation receives a licence to use the images. If you need to share them with partners or other agencies, ask us about an extended licence.
