What happens after the shoot

In part 1 and part 2 of this series, we covered what happens before and during the photoshoot — this is where you’ll have the most active participation in the process. After the shoot is where you get to relax, but where our work continues!

Following your shoot, we provide an estimate of how long it’ll take for your images to be handed over (unless you’ve already requested a specific turnover time). We’ll also keep you updated as to our progress.

Immediately after the shoot, your images are backed up —we do this on at least two separate hard drives as a precaution. Next, we cull the photos down, till only the images that epitomize your brand message remain!

If sought, we also provide the option for you to select the final images from the culled batch so we can edit and deliver them. Whilst some clients are happy to leave the final selection to us!


The post-production period is when all the editing takes place. This involves:

  • colour and exposure corrections
  • Removing visible distractions in an image
  • Adjusting contrast, brightness and colour tone to suit the creative aims
  • Skin retouching if required
  • Cropping
  • Assessing that each image matches the brief, and ensuring consistency in design and mood underlying the editing style

Once all images are edited, they’re uploaded into a password-protected online gallery and a link will be sent to you. The site we use for this is Pixieset and the great thing about it is you can download high or low-resolution versions, and share the gallery for others to view!

Depending on the shoot, the gallery will usually be open for around two to four weeks for you to download the images before it’s closed.
